Job Description

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for packers for our client - the UKs leading supplier of aluminium glazing systems and bespoke aluminium extrusions based in Bristol.The purpose of the role is to pack profiles from extrusion oven stillages into correct customer requirementsMain Duties: Job Specific Tasks

  • Removing any defect material in line with company standards
  • Follow die drawings and packing specifications
  • Check Webster test/tensile test has been completed before packing
  • Ensure correct length for order
  • Report finished packs and print labels
  • Report scrap against the correct stillage
  • Remove excess swarf from metal
Main Duties: Health & Safety
  • To ensure your working environment is kept clean and hazard free at all times
  • To take responsibility for our health and safety and that of others
  • To assist any members of your team where needed
  • Not to use any machinery unless you have been properly trained to do so
  • To ensure that all health and safety instructions are followed such as risk assessments/ safe systems of work
  • Comply with the wearing of relevant Personal protective equipment and environmental practices
  • Ensure relevant checks are carried out and paperwork completed
  • Report accidents/near misses and any safety improvements
  • Ensure that you are familiar and understand the contents of the health and safety board
Working Hours and Salary:-
  • Rotating mixed shifts of days 6.30am-6.30pm and nights 6.30pm-6.30am. (Typically 4 on 3 off)
  • Please note you must be able commit to both shifts, we cannot offer days only or nights only, it will be a mixture of both
  • £10 per hour (£12 per hour / £24,960 per annum including attendance bonus and shift allowance)
  • Overtime may be available
