Ocean Import Clerk - Freight Forwarding - Wythenshawe - Up to £35,000.About the CompanyThe client is a multinational freight forwarder who are looking to add an ocean import clerk to their existing team based in Wythenshawe.Ocean Import Clerk - The Rewards* Salary up to £35,000* Stakeholder pension scheme* 25 days holiday* Flexibility - Lieu Hours system* Healthshield Cash Plan - paid for by the Company* Personal Development Plan, with invested training* Death in Service insurance* Paid sick leaveOcean Import Clerk - Requirements* Experience of air, road or ocean movements, customs documentation and procedures* Profound ability to focus on customer service as a core value, maintaining high standards of quality* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.* Good numeracy skills* Strong problem-solving skills* Good ability to organize, including prioritizing, planning, follow-up, assigning and controlling objectives* Strong administration skills* Customs Clearance experience* Computer literate, familiar with Cargowise, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, etc.* Outgoing, friendly and commercially aware* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with Internal and External Customers* Result-oriented and places great emphasis on customer focus* Strong ability to maintain focus under stressful situationsOcean Import Clerk - Responsibilities* You will be part of a team of people who are responsible for the import of goods, ensuring that transit and delivery is made on time. This means that you will liaise regularly with overseas offices, subcontractors, partners or agents* As a provider of customer service you will ensure that the clients expectation is met and, where possible, exceeded* You will be responsible for completing and checking all associated paperwork in line with our ISO defined processes and procedures, and escalating issues where non-compliance has been identified* All customs activities will be made in line with the defined AEO program & HMRC regulations. Your role will involve checking the type & value of goods ensuring that they are legal and legitimate, and ensure that goods are cleared prior to release* You will be required to generate quotations, follow up and record the outcome of all quotations in CW1* The role requires establishing contacts and relationships with customers, providing active and proactive information to the client as needed* The role involves being able to manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required in order to be able to meet timescales* You will be responsible for profit/loss accuracy at job file level, including buy/sell rating and ensuring maximum profitability* You may be required to undergo cross training (other clients, routes or modes) to support colleagues, as required* Achieve individual and department KPIs, as defined* Other duties as requestedAbout Us Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
