Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a part qualified Accountant to join the team in Manchester!Joining our financial accounting team your main duties will focus on posting financial transactions and adjustments to the ledger ensuring thorough reviews and analysis whilst working to a high level of reporting accuracy. Process improvement is also key as we are always looking for ways we can operate more efficiently and effectively.Our Accountants are responsible for:

  • journal postings,
  • accrual prepayments,
  • balance sheet reconciliations,
  • month end reporting.
  • Our team also support the business with any PnL queries and partner the wider finance team to resolve any issues and queries.
    • To be a successful Rubix accountant we are looking for someone who is quick to learn our processes and ways of working and can balance and juggle a large workload. We constantly evolve and adapt to change so you must be comfortable working in this environment. In return you will amass a wealth of experience and knowledge supporting a large distribution business and the opportunities for progression and development are endless as the Brammer Buck and Hickman business is part of the wider Rubix Group.What do we look for
  • Qualifications are important, but attitude and drive is key for us, we do need someone AAT qualified but you may not have started or completed the CIMA qualification
  • Experience in a distribution business would be preferable as this will help you have a good grasp of our business and ways of working.
  • Self-Starter who can identify issues and question and challenge until they are resolved
  • Proactive - some who has improved processes and ways of working
  • Advanced Excel skills vlookups, pivot tables, sumif, etc.
  • Proactive team player with enthusiasm to learn and a positive attitude to change
  • Proven ability and experience in dealing with subledger and ledger transactions and reconciliations
  • Experience of financial accounting ledger systems (Kerridge ideal but not essential)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build good relationships with Internal & External contacts.
