Job Description

Youll join a business with a compelling history and an exciting future.THE ROLEThis is a newly created role that sits within our Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations function. Its an exciting time to join our ambitious team and help shape its strategy and future direction. Youll be responsible for the Phoenix Group website content and the companys presence externally with key stakeholder audiences including customers, employees - both existing and future, our local communities, Government and industry, analysts, shareholders and partners. The roles main purpose is to use website content to build brand awareness of and engagement with Phoenix amongst audiences. The role will also be responsible for partner relationships, potential technology platforms and agency engagement.Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating the Phoenix Group website content strategy;
  • Managing the look and feel of the corporate website and working closely with our digital agency partner to build the new website framework;
  • Leading the creation of content for the corporate website to support the company strategy, brand and business performance;
  • Enhancing the use of the corporate website as a recruitment tool and promoter of the employer brand;
  • Analysing, assessing and managing the online corporate reputation of Phoenix by creating and being accountable for the website .co.uk strategy (and policies) to improve and maintain a high brand reputation in both search and awareness results and;
  • Establishing the website as a vehicle to amplify Phoneix as a leader brand in the thought-leadership space.
  • The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the digital team, Social Media Manager, IR, PR, Public Affairs and Internal Comms, as well as SME across the business to implement supporting enhancements to the Phoenix corporate website. They will also manage agency and partner relationship(s) as appropriate.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and manage the implementation of the corporate website strategy.
  • Maximise Phoenix Group brand exposure to key stakeholder audiences including customers, employees - both existing and future, our local communities, Government and industry, analysts, shareholders and partners via the .co.uk platform.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and support delivery of the strategy(ies).
  • Build and manage a coherent online content and presence for Phoenix.
  • Create, oversee and co-ordinate the creation of the (new) website look and feel, content and tone of voice in response to analysis and search engine results.
  • Ensure that all corporate website content displayed externally supports and builds on the Phoenix story.
  • Identify opportunities to create content to gain coverage and extensive reach for Phoenix Group and all SBU initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Digital, Social Media, Brand, IR, PR, Public Affairs and Internal Comms teams (and others as appropriate) to ensure consistency of message and tone, along with the amplification of key brand attributes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to agree appropriate activity and content to support the strategy, the brand and the Groups overall purpose.
  • Ensure the website continues to be a strong recruitment tool.
  • Design relevant KPI tracking mechanisms and oversee the delivery of MI reporting using multiple and varied tracking tools.
  • Promote good customer outcomes and brand positioning and ensure adherence to all regulatory and data requirements.
  • Maintain a robust audit trail of sign-off and approvals.
  • Support the Brand Manager with the creation of up-to-date material to support the Brand Strategy.
  • Work effectively with the digital team to facilitate the posting of collaborative and supportive content.

  • Experience of working in the life and pensions / financial services industry.
  • Ability to analyse data to continuously improve Phoenix brand awareness and consideration.
  • Be proactive and able to identify opportunities to create content to gain coverage and extensive reach for Phoenix Group initiatives and awareness.
  • Experience in designing and delivering corporate reputation management, NPS and search engine optimisation strategies, KPIs and results.
  • Excellent written, copyright and creative skills to design relevant and supporting content.
  • Experience of CMS and relevant software expertise to create tools, infographics, videos etc. with the ability to upload as appropriate.
  • Previous accountability for managing budgets and multiple agency and partner relationships.
  • Experience in creating website content in the corporate domain coupled with an understanding of UX and CX.
  • Recent exposure to and experience of SEO with knowledge of SEOd, AHRefs, Screaming Frogs etc.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each main website platform and have up-to-date experience of using them, best practice, good examples, emerging trends etc.
  • Understanding of brand positioning and good customer outcomes.
  • Experience of working across multiple teams with multiple stakeholders and where necessary lead teams of SMEs to provide intel and content
  • Understanding of content marketing and the correlation between content and ROI/awareness.
  • Strong senior stakeholder management and communication/discussion skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate a can-do, dont wait to be asked and collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to assess, challenge and change current processes and results.
  • IT skills - good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes, especially Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Understanding of regulation and guidance notes surrounding digital content.
