30 hours per week (0.81FTE)PermanentWrittle University College (WUC) is looking to recruit a Disability Manager (Higher Education) with a passion for ensuring that students with disabilities have the opportunity to access and get the most out of the academic and broader student experience at WUC. This will be achieved through the provision of high quality information, advice, support, reasonable and anticipatory adjustments and a fully accessible and inclusive environment.You will act as a lead for HE student disability matters, providing expert consultancy to all members of the Writtle University College community. You will also work closely with key WUC staff to support the development and delivery of WUC access and participation plans and the further development of an inclusive teaching and learning environment, and campus and university college facilities.In addition, you will steer, influence and implement work that develops more inclusive HE policy and practice, along with co-ordinating and/or delivering training programmes that raise the awareness of the needs of a disabled student and support staff in being able to make (anticipatory and responsive) reasonable adjustments.The successful candidate will have experience of working with people with a range of disabilities, ideally in an education environment, along with thorough knowledge of the disability provisions of the Equality Act (2010).
