Five Education is looking for an LSA to assist with SEN students displaying challenging behaviour at a secondary school in Wotton under Edge. We require a candidate with experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health).The ideal candidate for this school will be positive, proactive and patient. You will mostly be supporting children in KS3 Maths and English classes around the school. You will need to be confident and have excellent behaviour management skills. You may be asked to work 1:1 depending on the needs of the children. Some of the childrenwill have additional needs including Complex Needs and SpLD (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia). This role requires someone who can work 8:30-3:30, 5 days per week, and is offering a salary of £80-£85 per day (including holiday pay).Responsibilities and duties:Working with the teacher to help the pupils access the curriculum including supporting with differentiation Supporting the students social and emotional developmentHelping students to learn self-regulation techniques, though a lot of guidance and support will be requiredKeeping students engaged with their workImplementing behaviour management toolsDeveloping a relationship with the students and their caregiversWorking with other TAs and support staffWorking with challenging behaviour and/ or complex needsEssential Criteria:At least 12 months of recent teaching assistant or similar experienceExperience teaching or supporting children with SEN or experience supporting vulnerable adults with additional needs.A flexible and resourceful approach.Will have strong communication and empathy skillsYou will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement.Experience of THRIVE or Team Teach would be an advantage but not essential.Excellent behaviour management skillsAvalaible 5 days per week, 08:15 - 15:0, Mon - FriHave a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/Police checksFive Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment.
