Software Developer, Delphi Location: Worsley, ManchesterSalary: £35 - 40k, depending on experienceContract: Permanent, Full time.Hours: 9am - 5pm Mon to Friday, a total of 37.5 hours per week.We are an independent software house based in Worsley, Greater Manchester but nearer to Bolton in the North West of England. In the present climate all of our development staff are remote working. Returning to an office environment will be phased and flexible.Our core business is selling IT solutions to the Food Delivery sector, primarily Dairies delivering throughout the UK; Dairydata is our trading name in this area.Our Windows desktop application and Windows Services are written in Delphi using MySQL and MariaDB databases. They interface with our YourMOO web application, our Android and Windows Mobile devices and third parties using EDI and Web Services. Other technologies employed are Team Coherence, SOAP and JSON.Tasks and responsibilities:• Deliver production ready code of high quality which satisfies all functional and non-functional requirements• Apply defined practices / procedures to design, implement, and support individual software projects• Design, code, test and maintain deliverables of low to moderate complexity• Perform and design testing protocols to ensure that the product is fully tested• Analyse and accurately implements functional and non-functional requirements• Debug and troubleshoot software to resolve defects• Create or contribute to clearly documented plans, designs and results• Build effective working relationships with team members• Actively seeks assistance as needed but demonstrates learning and growing independence• Author or contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, bug fix documentation• Multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining integrity, reliability, ethical practices and a professional focus on projects.Qualifications/skills required to perform role:• 5+ years commercial knowledge of and experience using Delphi.• 3+ years commercial experience using SQL.• Must have a portfolio of completed projects.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Software Developer - Personal Skills/Attributes:• Team player and understands how own work is important to the team’s success• Willing to contribute what it takes to meet deadlines and deliverables• Willing to take on additional responsibility to ensure team successPlease only apply if you have the necessary skills and experience, forwarding an up to date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance.
