Delphi Software DeveloperLocation: Worsley, ManchesterSalary: £35 - 40k, depending on experienceContract: Permanent, Full time.Hours: 9am - 5pm Mon to Friday, a total of 37.5 hours per week.Delivery Software Ltd, trading as Dairydata, are a long established, Manchester based, family run software house. We develop applications for the dairy, food and beverage delivery sector and work with hundreds of dairies across the UK, providing software which helps those organisations manage their stock, their deliveries, their invoicing and via our e-commerce solutions, their client interactions. Whilst we have a legacy on premise client base, our core proposition is now Software-as-a- Service.The company is enjoying a rapid period of growth and is seeking high quality additions to our small and versatile team to support that growth moving forward.Delphi Software Developer - The Role:Our Windows desktop application and Windows Services are written in Delphi using MySQL and MariaDB databases. They interface with our YourMOO web application, our Android and Windows Mobile devices and third parties using EDI and Web Services. Other technologies and tools employed include Atlassian Jira, Confluence and BitBucket as well as SOAP and JSON. Our SaaS platform is hosted on AWS.We are seeking an experienced Delphi developer to join the team and drive the continued evolution of our core application, creating production ready code to the highest standard. Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, the successful candidate will adopt best practice methodologies and procedures in designing, implementing and supporting a range of development requirements.Tasks and responsibilities:• Deliver production ready code of high quality which satisfies all functional and non-functional requirements.• Apply defined practices / procedures to design, implement, and support individual software projects.• Design, code, test and maintain deliverables of low to moderate complexity.• Perform and design testing protocols to ensure that the product is fully tested in conjunction with our QA function.• Analyse and accurately implement functional and non-functional requirements.• Debug and troubleshoot software to resolve defects.• Create or contribute to clearly documented plans, designs and results.• Build effective working relationships with team members.• Actively seek assistance as needed but demonstrates learning and growing independence.• Author or contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, bug fix documentation.• Multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining integrity, reliability, ethical practices and a professional focus on projects.Software Developer - Personal Skills/Attributes:Qualifications/skills required to perform role:• 5+ years commercial knowledge of and experience using Delphi.• 3+ years commercial experience using SQL.• Must have a portfolio of completed projects.• PHP experience desirablePersonal Skills/Attributes:You will understand the importance of the basics:
