Job Description

What its like to work here North Devon has one of the most diverse landscapes in Britain, from deep wooded valleys of temperate rainforest to high sea cliffs, from wildflower meadows to sand dunes.Based in Woolacombe, part of the Morte Estate stretching from Croyde to Ilfracombe, you would be joining an ambitious team who are working to create a more resilient and dynamic landscape in the face of the nature and climate emergency. To connect more people to this incredible work for nature, we are delivering projectsacross the Morte Estate to develop the curiosity and skills of local people, raising the profile of what makes this place special, and reaching new groups.Working with volunteers and local communities is vitally important for us to achieve our aims to lookafter and share our places. For more information about our property please visit days-out/regionsouthwest/devon What youll be doing You’ll take the lead in developing and delivering our wildlife monitoring and survey programme, recruiting wildlife monitoring volunteers and sharing your knowledge and passion for wildlife with our existing Ranger team so that we can track and monitor thechanges we are implementing for nature and wildlife on the property. You will use your knowledge and experience to support the Rangers and volunteers to deliver habitat and estate management across the property. You’ll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasmto encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you’ll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions, rather than rushing away to the next task. You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, work with our farm tenants and proudly representing the Trust and letting peopleknow about the work you and the team are doing. Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.Who we are looking forWe’d love to hear from you if you’re:
