Job Description

Role : Materials / Inventory ControllerSalary : £22,000 - £24,000Location : BarnsleyJob Overview for the role of Materials / Inventory ControllerTo effectively control, administer and coordinate the companys internal material supply and schedule requirements to maintain continuous, uninterrupted production flow, plus to provide production administration support.Main tasks of a Materials / Inventory Controller will include..

  • Daily audit and maintenance of build up plan to identify and communicate issues and requirements to reschedule the build sequence ( eg shortages, quality issues, engineering issues etc).
  • Update daily WIP status, and liaise with sales and purchasing materials controllers ti manage and report any delays to deliveries.
  • Review weekly output serial numbers from work orders and check all labour and material transactions are complete.
  • Process and progress all materials requisitions within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Raise internal work orders, register and monitor completion and book to stock
  • Schedule and organise stock cycle checks and maintain stock levels
  • Investigate and report all excessive stock levels, including parameter checks
  • Review all requisitions for action required and progress directly, or with relevant support.
  • Identify how many and why requisitions are being raised within production and minimise / prevent.
    • Qualifications & Experience required for a Materials / Inventory Controller will include ..
  • Proficient with MRP ( SAP type ) system
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite applications in word, excel, Power point, outlook
  • Well organised and able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Must possess good organisational skills.
