Quality is at theheart of everything we do and our Engineers – QA work collaboratively in cross-functional agile Product Teams, alongside Business Solutions Specialists, Developers and Architects, to ensure the quality of the applications and systems that support our business.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and testing, in the development and implementation of retail software. As an omnichannel retailer this could include applications which support online ecommerce, physical store, businessto business operations, inventory, and supply chain management. This contract is for 12 months with a requirement to be onsite 2-3 days a week. This role is based in our Cobbs Lane office, Wollaston. As our Engineer - QA, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, Implementing, and executing test plans and test cases
  • Identifying and reporting defects to ensure the highest level of quality for our retail applications.
  • Developing automated and manual tests cases and scenarios, which provide sufficient coverage to validate new and existing functionality.
  • Executing tests and support the execution of tests throughout the development life cycle.
  • Updating the team on the progress of testing and QA activities, and challenges.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
  • Recent experience of using any store-based point of sales systems (POS), ideally in/for a retail store setting.
  • Experience of quality assurance in an agile delivery framework, ideally Scrum, including designing, preparing and executing tests.
  • Experience of identifying, reporting, supporting investigations and retesting defects.
  • Exposure to test automation, including test script development in any programming language, preferably C#.
  • Experience of running SQL queries on databases, to validate test outcomes.
  • Experience of testing backend retail operations, such as sales/transfer/purchase order processing, order fulfilment and stock replenishment.
  • Experience of testing without UI, using test drivers, simulators, harnesses, and API tools like Postman and SoapUI.
