Job Description

Summary Were looking for two people to join our team in Surrey Hills west. Primarily supporting the current team down at Frensham Little Pond.We ask that applicants are available one weekend day a week, along with weekday availability in the busier seasonal periods (school holidays, bank holidays). There will be opportunities to work across our portfolio helping at both Hindhead commons and otherevents/places in the Surrey Hills. Situated just 15 miles from London, Box Hill is a famed beauty spot remembered as the location for London Olympics road race. If you like the great outdoors, youlllove this stunning location with its breath-taking views, fantastic walks and colourful wildlife. Box Hill has a thriving caf, a shop and an information point where National Trust memberships are sold.Theres also Hindhead Commons and the Devils Punch Bowl, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You wont have to go far from our caf and welcome spaces to admire the views and stunning scenery surrounding this area, visitors stepinto a colourful mosaic of purple, greens and gold, its quiet apart from the sounds of nature.The portfolio also includes Leith Hill Place, the childhood home of the famous English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams near the village of Coldharbour in Surrey. Opened to the public for the first time in 2013, Leith Hill Place exudes an intimacy and informality.Stories of Vaughan Williams and his famous relatives, the Wedgwood family and Charles Darwin are waiting to be told. A house of many possibilities for the future. What youll be doing As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so youll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent serviceto all our visitors, every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, its your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.Youll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place youll work with the visitor welcome team to linkeverything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.Youll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.The work is often active on uneven ground, however we are keen and happy to make adjustments where possible.
