Job Description

My client, specialist currency and asset manager. Due to continued success, they are seeking a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer who wants to be technically focused and take a hands-on approach to problem solving and project implementation. The candidate willjoin their global Infrastructure Team.You will be working alongside vendors to ensure the success of all ongoing projects, the successful candidate will also be responsible for working alongside the Infrastructure Team to support our internal systems, with focus on the management of our on-premand cloud stack. The individual will work alongside these core functions providing technical guidance, evidence, and documentation. This will also be key as we move to more cloud-based solutions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support to users with a focus on quick resolution of incidents as well manage and resolution of escalations from 1st line. Taking ownership of the IT and corporate environment of our Windsor office, being the go-to person
  • Assist with office networking
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Adhering to change control policies and procedures
  • Liaising with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Data centre physical support when needed
  • Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Supporting mobile device and management tools
  • Corporate Wi-Fi support
  • Resolution of monitoring alerts
Core Requirements:
  • Backup Administration and Management including tape backups (eg. VEEAM)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft technology products: Azure, Office 365 (Hybrid Exchange, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune - Endpoint Manager)
  • Experience working and supporting Windows Server 2016/2019 (Active Directory, Group Policy)
  • Network experience
  • Support Windows 10 OS devices as well analysing and troubleshooting and resolving application issues
  • Administering security and software updates for multiple systems (eg. WSUS)
  • Knowledge of cyber security concepts and products (eg. Mail security, Proxy solutions, Antiviruses, etc.)
  • Administration of VMware including VCenter and Horizon
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in creating PC builds using system management tools (eg. SCCM or UMS and Windows Autopilot)
  • Desirable:
  • PowerShell / basic scripting
  • Possesses ITIL certification and/or experience of working within this framework
  • Familiar with Storage Area Networks technologies - SAN arrays and fabrics
  • Experience in financial services
