Job Description

We are working with a Housing Association who are looking for a Finance Assistant to fulfil a 6 month contract on a full time basis.The main function of this role will be to:

  • Deliver timely, accurate, consistent and relevant financial information for both internal and external reporting.
  • Undertake day-to-day transactions with the sales or purchase ledger cycles
  • Support tasks to complete the year end audit.
  • Review balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
Duties will include:
  • Effective and accurate processing of sales or purchase ledger transactions
  • Timely processing of invoices, sales invoices, credits and payments
  • Ensuring that all transactions are appropriately authorised in line with the Organisations delegations matrix
  • Awareness of and compliance with process targets within the Finance Service Level Agreement (payment times etc)
  • Production of aged debtor / creditor information, and action to resolve old items
  • Provide management information to the business partners, other directorates, executive and appropriate boards to aid decision making
About you:
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Purchase/Sales Ledger experience
  • A professional qualification either AAT or part qualified accountant
  • The ability to use all Microsoft packages
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous social housing experience would be advantageous, but this is not essential
