Job Description

We are currently partnering with a market leading retail business based in Wilmslow in the appointment of an ambitious and proactive Finance Manager to join the successful finance team and assist with the growth of the business.Working closely with (and reporting to) the Group Finance Director and managing a team of two finance employees, your role will play an integral part in the production of the management accounts, monthly reporting, posting of invoices, forecasting and commercialanalysis. This role will also provide career development looking at working towards a more Finance manager role.Key responsibilities:

  • Manage workload and performance of Finance team
  • Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial information.
  • Assist the Finance Director with presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Month end tasks including fixed assets, commission, etc.
  • Preparation of supplier payment runs.
  • Preparation and submission of the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of the Budgets, forecasting and P&L
  • Track the companys financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
  • Manage and coordinate the budgets and prepare forecasting and reporting any variances.
  • Analyse financial reports and present findings to the board, identifying results, trends and forecasts.
  • Supervise financial reporting and budgeting employees.
  • Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs.
  • Analyse market trends to maximize profits and find expansion opportunities.
  • Identify risks, propose solutions and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Research and report on business performance influences.
  • Prepare and present statutory accounts, compliant with statutory law and financial regulations.
  • Lead the VAT and HMRC processes team. Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT returns.
Candidate requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • Ability to take ownership for posting, processing, producing, and analysing monthly management accounts
  • Proven ability to manage and support a small team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience using both finance platforms, e.g. Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP etc. and non-finance platforms, e.g. Microsoft 365.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, able to set priorities and a desire to consistently exceed expectations.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, time management, written + verbal communication skills.

  • £55,000-£60,000 DOE
  • Based in head office in Wilmslow - hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days at home)
