Job Description

Are you a purchase ledger clerk looking for a new challenge Are you a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual If so, this role could be for you. My Willenhall based client is looking for a Purchase ledger clerk to join their finance team.Benefits:

  • Salary up to £25,000
  • Mon to Thu - 7.30am - 5.00pm
  • Company pension

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Process and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Verify and reconcile supplier statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, BACS transfers, and direct debits.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices or payments.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to the purchase ledger.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Provide support to the finance team as needed.
Skills and Experience required:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role.
  • Proficient in using accounting software.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to analyse financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
