We are seeking a Development Manager to join our Design & Shopfitting division. In thisrole, youll have the chance to lead store refurbishment and installation projects, working with key stakeholders to ensure that we continue to deliver outstanding experiences for our customers.The role:As the Development Manager, you will report to the Head of Development and play a critical role in planning, controlling, and managing store refurbishment and installation projects for new and existing retail stores across the A.F. Blakemore estate. We areabout to embark on a key energy reduction project within the business replacing a large amount critical equipment in our stores over the next 2 years. We therefore require additional Development Managers to join our already experienced teamWho we are:A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is a family-owned company with a rich history dating back to 1917. • Providing best fit solutions to maximize capital investment returns in retail store development.
• Creating project plans with clear milestones and deadlines.
• Ensuring projects adhere to specifications, brand manuals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Managing supplier terms and conditions.
• Following competitive tendering and partnering processes.
• Conducting post-project assessments to meet A.F. Blakemore and customer expectations.
• Implementing control processes for safety and compliance.
• Overseeing snagging of shopfitting and construction works.
• Supporting the evaluation of new business models and sharing best practices.

Financial Responsibilities:

• The control of costs in accordance with agreed budgets

Key Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

• Full Driving Licence is essential
• Basic education (numeracy and literacy)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Demonstrable retail project management experience and commercial awareness essential
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
• Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
• Experience in managing costs and resources
