Business Development ManagerSalary – CompetitiveWhitney - OxfordshireBusiness Development Manager/ Sales / Manufacturing / Sales Manager/ Technical Sales/ OxfordThe recruitment group is working with a fast-growing Design & Manufacturing company that specializes 4 different areas, Static Control, Compressed air technology, Surface Cleaning systems, and Web Cleaning.Our client work within a number of diverse industries including pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, and the emerging EV battery market.Purpose of the Business Development Manager role:This has been a new role that has been created as a result of growth and expansion. Our client has a focus on improvement and collaborating with their global offices and distributors.Our client’s mission is to design and manufacture the best and most innovative Static Control and Surface Cleaning equipment to optimize our customers’ productivity. Founded in 1907, for over a century they have been engineering and manufacturing productsin the UK that are used worldwideMain duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in targeted overseas markets as assigned to you.
  • Manage and build on relationships with existing export customers and distributors.
  • Drive a proactive business development plan with international distributors using for example the DABP tools and maintain regular reviews.
  • Provide technical support to accounts in all markets, including attending the installation and commissioning of products and systems when required.
  • Researching export markets, trends, opportunities and competitor activity.
  • Managing and developing existing export accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, providing (or arranging) commercial and technical support and training as required.
  • Assisting in the identification, establishment and technical sales training and support of new distributors in targeted export markets. Designing, developing and delivering training to existing and new distributors and employees as required in the UK andglobally and evaluating the effectiveness of training delivered and making recommendations for improvement:
  • Sales budgeting and forecasting for assigned regions.
  • Proactive follow-up of new sales leads and marketing campaigns in assigned region.
  • Informing distributors and customers of new products and technologies relevant to their processes.
  • Develop relationships with major customer/distributor personnel and create plans for each key account to increase sales, in line with the overall regional sales plan.
  • Proactive development of new prospects to ensure the regional sales account pipeline is full and maintained.
  • Attending – and, when required & representing at selected trade shows and exhibitions in the UK & Europe.
  • Updating global market data and documentation as necessary.
Experience/knowledge requirements for Business development Manager role.
  • Strong technical sales background and good commercial understanding, ideally including export sales development.
  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills including networking, relationship building, negotiating and influencing.
  • Organised, confident, self-disciplined, self-motivated, resourceful and loyal.
