Workshop Manager Salaryup to £30K DOELocation- HMP Hindley Wigan / BuryConnections are currently recruiting for a workshop manager to join an established specialist team in the IT sector. As a workshop manager you will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and output performance of the workshop attendees. This is dual basedrole based between offices in Bury and HMP Hindley Wigan.The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in planning, scheduling with good working knowledge of stock management with the ability to work in a targeted environment. As this role will partly be working in a secure category C prison it is key theideal candidate is able to adapt to these surroundings and work within the restraints from the environment. We encourage candidates that have experience with in training and development and people management with key skills in coaching or leadership. Responsibilities Capacity Planning

Ensure the workshop has maximum workload and sufficient time for processing.

Scheduling, reporting and control of workload.

Pre plan process targets for workshop and schedule daily feed
Monitor and review workload.
Complete and record daily sheets.
Complete and record monthly tonnages and set targets accordingly.

Quality Control

Ensure materials are sorted correctly into their separate types

Copper (Cu), Aluminium (AL), Aluminium/Copper (AL/CU), H9 Aluminium, Steel etc

Ensure printed circuit boards are removed of all AL and steel and any extra un-necessary weight
Ensure re-saleable high spec RAM and CPUs are separated

Stock/Material Management

Monitor and record material inventory on a daily basis to assist with production.
Monitor weights and tonnage produced for all materials on a weekly and monthly basis.
Produce forecasts for processed materials.

Logistics and Warehousing

Fully manage all deliveries and collections to and from HMP Hindley
Complete all relevant delivery paperwork including WTN for all collections.
Ensure all processed material is palletised and banded ready for despatch.
Help load and unload deliveries / containers via forklift truck
Liaise with freight companies to organise deliveries

Health and Safety

Promote and maintain awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirement.

Security

Working alongside HMP Hindley prison staff ensuring that security measures are always adhered to.
To undertake any security training and briefing necessary to work within the prison.
