Job Description

Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy are looking for an excellent communicator, wellorganised, solutions-focused, and empathetic individual to join us in the role of Exams and Cover Officer.Exams and Cover OfficerLiverpool, L35 2XG

  • Full Time, Term Time + 3 Weeks
  • Salary: Grade G scp: 19 - 22 (Actual £25,034)

  • Coordinating exams and daily cover, including planning, development, and maintenance of support services and whole school systems.
  • Managing manual/computerised record/information systems and performing detailed data analysis.
  • Producing complex correspondence and handling submission of internal and external forms and returns.
  • Organising and participating in exam invigilation, liaising with relevant Examination Boards.
  • Administering the school’s cover system, recording absences accurately, and distributing daily cover sheets to HR and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Allocating cover to lessons, preparing cover work and resources, and liaising with supply agencies.
  • Organising school improvement interventions, managing complex enquiries, and planning school trips/visits.
  • Assisting with pupil welfare duties, managing room changes and breaktime duty rotas.
  • Overseeing resource selection and management, budget handling, and procurement in line with school procedures.
  • Liaising with supply agencies and casual supply teachers and engaging appropriately qualified cover staff, subject to SLT approval and within budgetary constraints.
Normal Working Hours:
  • 7:30am- 3:15pm Monday- Thursday.
  • 7:30am- 3:00pm Friday.
Experience and Qualifications
  • GCSE English and Mathematics Grade C (5) or above, with desirable further or higher education/training or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience in dealing with complex queries, providing customer-focused services
  • Experience working in a similar or administrative role, especially in a school environment.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
