Job Description

Synthetic Chemist (R&D)Weatherby£28,000 - £31,000 DOE + excellent training + flexitime + healthcare + excellent pension + 26.5 days holiday + higher salary available for someone with 1 years experience+Are you a Chemistry graduate with an understanding of organic chemistry looking for a lab-based role within a global organisation with industry leading training and developmentDo you want to broaden and develop your technical experience and work on exciting projects with an industry leading business with a huge range of career options at home and abroadOn offer is a role within a global scientific business that will provide excellent training to work with new product development and who have just opened a brand-new state of the art laboratory facility.You will be a recent Chemistry graduate with a thorough understanding of organic chemistry.The Role:

  • Execution of planned projects within the R&D programme, setting timelines, delivering, and reporting results in a timely manner.
  • Process scale-up and transfer from R&D to manufacturing operations, both internal and external.
  • Developing and evaluating new synthetic chemistry procedures and manufacturing processes.
  • Running routine analytical tests.
  • Sample administration, packing of samples and dispatching, liaising with the warehouse for sample transport to the lab, waste disposal.
  • Working safely; using and understanding existing COSHH and risk assessments and writing new COSHH and risk assessments for the work undertaken. Following quality procedures, safety procedure and SOPs.
The Person:
  • Educated to degree level in Chemistry / Science / Materials or related field
