Job Description

Management AccountantYou will join us as a Management Accountant to provide first-line support to our fantastic teams, ensuring finance promotes the delivery of The Centre’s goals. The newly created post of Management Accountant will be an ambassador for finance, working flexibly with our managers and staff. You will supplement your financial acumen with relationship management skills and have an opportunity to develop our processes as we grow.This post will provide support to the Director of Finance & Operations to ensure that the finance department produces high quality information that support the organisational goals.This is your opportunity to make a positive difference in an exciting organisation.Management Accountant Responsibilities:- Provide analytical support, analysis, insight, and commentary to the financial position of the Centre to enable informed decision-making, including producing standard costing models.- Identify KPI’s and create reports that analyse financial performance across the organisation- Present analysis and insight and make recommendations about income and surplus- Help protect and grow our non-voluntary income levels through evidence-based insight- Use analysis and insight to provide the first line of appropriate financial challenges- Support the development of financial understanding of individuals and teams across the organisation to ensure that financial information is clear and understood- Coordinating the preparation of the annual accounts and supporting the production of the annual reportManagement Accountant Requirements:- Part-qualified or qualified with recognised UK accountancy body- Proven ability to analyse large volumes of data and draw insights for further analysis and development of recommendations- Excellent Excel skills and good experience of creating engaging reports.- Comfortable working with new software systems with ability to develop oneself in this area- Good knowledge and experience with planning and analysis tools and models.- Well-developed communication and influencing skills, and a track record of building effective relationships at all levels, with capability of adapting style to suit a range of stakeholders- Experience of working with and challenging (where appropriate) senior stakeholders- Experience of working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to problem solve- Appreciation of ‘fund accounting’ and allocation and apportionment of expenditure to report to fundersAbout The Cardinal Hume Centre:Cardinal Basil Hume founded the Centre in 1986; we offer a diverse range of services for homeless young people, families in need and the local community on one site. The Centre enables people to gain the skills and support they need to overcome poverty and homelessness.
