Job Description

Childrens Home Deputy ManagerCurrently looking to recruit for a Deputy Manager to work and support a childrens and young people care home in Dover. My client caters to children and young people with EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties) and other behaviours that may challenge.As well as a very generous starting salary of £26000-£30000 per year, depending on experience, you will also receive other benefits such as £1,000 welcome bonus after passing your 6-month probation period!, bespoke paid training to further develop your career, pension scheme, and, opportunities to achieve further qualification in the sector.You will receive a generous holiday entitlement, for an excellent work and home life balance. Your work week will consist of 40 hours per week, inclusive of on-call duties on a rolling rota basis so you can plan ahead! Having a Full UK driving license will be in your favour for this role and you will need a vehicle to get to and from work. You will need to have the relevant awards and qualification such as a Level 3 diploma in children and young people already in place to be considered for this role.As an experienced professional, you will have knowledge of OFSTED Regulations and be up to date with Childcare & Child Protection Laws. As part of the management team, you will support the Registered Manager in the smooth running of the home. You will be a model of excellent work practice while supervising Staff formally and seeing how they interact whilst on shift. You will have a proven track record in working with vulnerable children and young people. You will further support the manager in implementing guidance and risk assessments, while upholding the companys policies & procedures, ethos, and, ensuring the Care Plans are followed. Communication is key for this role, as you will not only communicate with the rest of the staff team and children, but also with other professional bodies and parents/families.Along with having the experience above, you will also use your good sense of humour, initiative, integrity and honesty in order to build a good bond with the team and the children living at the home.
