Job Description

This is a part-time, 6 months FTCrole, based in our London office, W14. The closing date for all applicants is the 27th of May 2020.Role Context:Continually developing our people is of huge importance to us at NCS Trust, in order that we can motivate and empower our employees and to enable the successful delivery of our strategy through our talented team. The Learning and Development Manager role sits within our People Team alongside other HR subject matter experts and is responsible for ensuring we are delivering a fit for purpose L&D offering that targets the right development areas and engages our people.Our people team is nimble and a successful candidate needs to be hands-on and confident in both the delivery and production of in house learning content as well; as liaising with external providers.Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with stakeholders and provide expert, commercial and creative learning & development support to the Business - identifying skills gaps for key competency areas, training needs, designing, delivering and evaluating a range of L&D materials.
  • Work with the Director of People to help define the learning and development interventions that support and enable the wider L&D Strategy for the Trust
  • Deliver onboarding for new employees, including facilitating onboarding days and following up to ensure that employees are supported appropriately and have the resources they need
  • Support internal subject matter experts to coordinate the delivery of training on their areas of expertise
  • Engage and manage external training providers as needed to deliver specialist courses
  • Monitor uptake and impact of training and report on this to ensure that our offering remains relevant and is being well used by our employees
  • Work with the Organisational Design and Development Manager to support organisational change programmes
  • Support departmental leads to design and facilitate effective team days
  • Oversee the management of our catalogue of training opportunities.

  • Able to design and deliver engaging bespoke training programmes on a range of competency areas, including training materials
  • Able to confidently engage with external providers and ensure that they are tailoring their offerings to meet the organisational need
  • An effective team player who collaborates well with other HR specialists and colleagues and with the wider business
  • Strong understanding of professional development models and theory and able to translate these into tangible learning outcomes
  • Well organised and comfortable handling administrative processes, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience and qualifications:Essential
  • Energetic and highly motivated with proven L&D experience gained within a similar hands-on environment.
  • Confident in designing, developing and delivering innovative solutions, and possess excellent presentation, facilitation and organisation skills.
  • Strong experience in designing and delivering in-house training and onboarding programmes.
  • Experience of working with external training providers
