Are you looking for your next Shunter role We have 2 positions available with varying shift patterns, so look no further! We are currently looking for two Shunter’s to join us on a full-time permanent basis, based at our Hunters Point site in Corby. In return you will be provided with a competitive salary and will have the opportunity to be part of a team responsible for driving through high performance throughout the site.As our Shunter, your role will involve moving trailers on/off the loading bay, parking empty and full trailers in the yard, and assisting in the loading of trailers. This role will also ensure safety in the yard. You will be confident in driving a shunting tug and trained to operate machinery within the despatch department.The hours of work are 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm.You will also be required to be flexible to cover holidays/weekends.Key duties as our Shunter will include:- Being able to communicate with warehouse staff verbally and by radio- Yard marshalling- Trailer management- Responsibility for basic upkeep of shunt vehicle- Checking lights, tyres and insides of trailers before being used- Placing trailers in the required areas as per instructions from the warehouse teams- Ensuring all necessary safety checks are carried out and report any defects, accidental damage or incidents as soon as they are discovered- Preserving vehicle parking area layouts and report debris or potential hazards- Continuously working in line with Health & Safety legislation- Carrying out any other reasonable requests and support colleagues when required / with can do attitudeWhat we’re looking for in our Shunter:- Will hold a valid CAT C+E Licence- Valid & in date DQC plus Digi tacho card- Have Shunting experience preferably use a Terberg unit- Being punctual and organised- Remain professional and courteous in all communications- Enthusiastic and self-drivenPlease click apply now to join us and make a real difference as our Shunter.We look forward to hearing from you!
