Watton Vehicle Base -IP25 6JBPrisoner Escort Custody Drivers at a Vehicle Base can earn between £24,212 & £28,112 dependent upon the driving license and overtime (base salary is £23,812 plus a driving allowance and overtime)Could you take someone from confusion to clarityCould you take them from confrontational to calmCould you take somebody from secluded to supportedIf so, then a Prisoner Escort Custody Driver position could be just the role foryou!As a Prisoner Escort Custody Driver at one of our Vehicle Bases your role is to provide court transportation services, collecting detainees from prisons or police stations and transporting them safely and securely to courts. Once there, youre responsiblefor every aspect of their care until its time for them to return to custody or to be released. Duties include, accompanying defendants in court; searching property or people; ensuring food and drink is available and completing paperwork and data entry forthe day.Our roles are 40hours per week. Daytime shifts Monday- Saturday. You must be flexible as there will be occasions when finish times are unpredictable (overtime paid).What you need to do the jobThe great thing is, there is no previous experience required! What is key is that you are patient and understanding. If you are successful through our eligibility & assessment process, we will invite you to attend a five-week training course thatll provideyou with the skills you need to be a Prisoner Custody Officer.You must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be able to use those skills to manage and control all situations, ensuring your detainee remains calm and cared for.
