Job Description

Robert Walters are delighted to be working with a client based in Watford looking for a Senior Credit Controller to join their friendly but busy team. The role will look after their overseas contingent with a strong European client base. As the majorityof their clients tend to pay on time, the role will be 50% Credit Control and 50% forecasting and reporting on expected income. The company has a great team culture and is looking for someone with a passion for good customer service and building/maintainingstrong relationships.You will be expected to assist the rest of the team with credit control, accounts receivable, and creating income reports.Duties for the Senior Credit Controller:

  • Ensure that income is managed and play a crucial part in tracking, managing, and recouping expected payments.
  • Produce accurate income reports providing commentary for senior management.
  • Take prompt action where non or partial payment has been identified.
  • Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure that debtor accounts are up to date and accurate.
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure that all relevant sales invoices have been sent out and are in process of being paid.
  • Form and maintain good relationships with businesses and customers to ensure all queries regarding payments are handled in an efficient manner.
  • Forecast expected payments, and investigate and analyse any deviations.
  • Take responsibility for all escalated queries/issues which may arise.
To be considered successful, the ideal candidate must:
  • Have a proven background within a similar role and understand basic accounting principles.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work in a team.
  • Strong Excel skills desirable.
  • Have studied to some degree of AAT, CICM, or hold a relevant Accountancy degree.
