Job Description

Security Operations Analyst - £55k-£60k - 7% pension - £4K Car allowance.Location - Watford - Remote - 1 day on site initially then fully remote.The Security Operations (SecOps) Analyst performs two core functions for the enterprise.The first is the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions while the second is the identification, investigation, and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems. Secondary tasks also include involvement in the implementationof new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as conducting security audits, assessments and investigations.

  • Responsibility for developing and improving all security operational procedures, processes and products under the direction of the Information Security Officer, where appropriate.
  • Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture, under the direction of the Information Security Officer, where appropriate.
  • Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures) under the direction of the Information Security Officer, where appropriate.
  • Participate in the reviewing and maintenance of the IT Department business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan, under the direction of the Information Security Officer, where appropriate.
  • Participate in the membership of CSIRT and ISO27001 Information Security Forum.
  • Participate in annual reviews of appropriate rights and access levels, to include liaison with system and/or data owners.
  • Participate in Change Approval Board to provide security reviews, guidance and approvals.
  • Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and the preparation and training for security audits (to include Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001/27701) under the direction of the Information Security Officer,where appropriate.
Operational Management
  • Participate in Secure by Design and Privacy by Design governance processes with the Project Office.
  • Prepare and review weekly Operational Risk security SLA metrics and reports.
  • Complete the Daily Checks of all systems and alerts that could prove to be potentially related and as such establish potential threats to the Business or individual User Accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place devices and services, whether they be under direct control (i.e. security tools) or not (e.g. workstations, servers, network devices, cloud services).
