Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of IT to join the UKs largest specialist wine retailer!Are you experience working within a Retail, FMCG or Hospitality environmentDo you have in-depth understanding and detailed knowledge of Infrastructure technologiesIf you have answered yes to these questions, Majestic Wine would be delighted to hear from you!The RoleAs Majestic Wines Director of IT you will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, budget, delivery,and support of the Information Technology function within Majestic Retail & Majestic Commercial.Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the technical elements of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for core infrastructure services and all office and data centre locations, and ensure regular tests are carried out.
  • Define, plan and deliver the companys IT and Information Security strategy alongside the IT Director and Head of Security & Solutions Architecture.
  • Ensure all IT activities are compliant with GDPR and other regulations.
  • Operationalising, implementing and developinG Majestic Wine IT Operations Strategy to provide direction and solutions that enhance outcomes and ensure the seamless management of IT Infrastructure.
  • Working with key stakeholders across the business to build and maintain IT infrastructure systems which are effectively managed and implemented.
  • Deliver regular and accurate management and data reporting on key team activities.
  • Provide effective management of all IT Infrastructure staff including recruitment, mentoring, coaching, training, target setting and performance assessment.
  • Demonstrate strong vendor management experience and external suppliers experience, ensuring contracts, SLAs and costs are controlled effectively.
  • Take accountability for escalated issues and Managed Incidents, ensuring prioritisation of technical resources to achieve desired outcomes.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Ability to influence and drive change to enhance IT service provision and capability.
  • 5-10 Years experience managing a IT Team
  • Experience working within a Retail, FMCG or Hospitality environment providing excellent customer service and delivery standards to multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
  • In-depth understanding and detailed knowledge of Infrastructure technologies, including networks and some data experience from a management and technical experience.
  • Strong blend of analytical, decision-making and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable skills and certification in best practices or methodologies such as ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO20000 and Active Directory administration.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Windows 8 and 10 setup, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of EPOS, Google Suite and AWS.
  • Good planning, prioritising and numeracy skills.
  • A methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
