Job Description

Seven Resourcing is recruiting for a permanent Design Engineer for a service in Watford.£45,000 per annum.Reporting to Senior EngineerPermanent roleJob Purpose:The development of highways packages and public realm space design packages1. To develop technical design packages in a cost-effective, timely and collaborative manner.2. To lead on quality outputs, applying design management systems, ensuring adherence to processes and continuous improvementYou will produce design information that is construction led and always seek to exceed our customers expectations. Your ability to partner with construction and client teams to generate efficiencies and drive innovation in both design development and constructionwill help Eurovia to become a leading provider.You will contribute to designs for highway and public realm projects across the UK of a value from £1m to £25m. You will be based at the Eurovia Contracting head office in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire but will be expected to travel and provide direct supportthat meets the demand of each project.Duties:a) Demonstrate and uphold Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities, including CDMb) Core technical acumen and demonstrable experience in the development of Highway and Public Realm space design packages. Ideally a minimum of 3 years experiencec) Ability to uphold relationships and conduct effective liaison as required for project deliveryd) Application of design management systems and processes ensuring continuous improvement including understanding and application of BIMe) Commercial knowledge of project delivery and the NEC contract suite ensuring tasks are delivered to time and budgetf) Experience and understanding of construction methodologies and processes enabling a construction led design processg) Competent in the use of AutoCAD and Civils 3D packagesh) Provide support to mentor and develop junior members of the design teami) Relevant degree in engineering fieldj) Professionally qualified or working towards chartership of a professional bodyMEASURES OF SUCCESS:- Cost-effective and timely development / production of designs.- Efficiency gains through the use of BIM.- Adhering to Eurovia company procedures- Engaging with Eurovias people, systems, and processes alongside peers- Consistently delivering quality output that meets or exceeds personal objectives- Exceeding KPI targets both internally and as demanded by Contract ScopeApplicant Requirements:- Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.- Experience: 3 years Engineering experience or more.Enthusiasm, team playerFlexible in terms of hours worked and attitudeAbility to work to deadlinesSkills to include :Effective communicationGood telephone mannerTime ManagementPC literacyOrganisational skillsAccuracy/attention to detailAbility to work with minimal supervisionDemonstrated initiative- Compliance: Up to date Passport Right to work in the UK- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.- Hours: 37 hours p/w.Working with Seven Social Care:We have been helping social care professionals find exciting new roles for almost a decade, so we know exactly where to look when it comes to sourcing the best opportunities.
