The BusinessA global supplier of readymade garments, apparel, manufacturing, sourcing and marketing, this company has 40 offices in over 15 countries with over 2,800 employees and an annual turnover in excess of one 1 billion USD. Their UK team is based in Watford with over 150 employees where they have been based for over 20 years.The JobYou will join the company as an Assistant Compliance Manager where you will work closely with the Group Compliance Team, Business Team and Customers.You will be responsible for supporting the Group Compliance to ensure that its supply chain adhere to legal standards and internal policies related to Social, Ethical andHealth & Safety.Main Tasks and Responsibilities:• Work with the Group Compliance team to ensure that when on-boarding new factories information is available for review and assessed as required• Review audits and reports to identify and investigate potential risks or non-conformity issues• Liaise with the central Compliance coordination team in order to monitor critical path adherence for the master and on-boarding trackers• Understand internal and external systems such as SAP (compliance software) and Sedex as well as customer portals for managing compliance• Support the implementation of all group compliance policies and procedures• Keep updated on regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control• Communicate regularly with the Group Compliance Team, internal business team and customers• Generate reports and support their preparationWho Fits the Bill• Experience in compliance and a good understanding of ethical audits• Strong organisational skills and methodological approach to tasks• Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to operate at all levels• Flexibility and willingness to travel• Ability to manage critical path information and compile reportsBonus Points For• Experience of working within the fashion industry and international supply chains• Experience of working with UK high street retailers and knowledge of garment manufacturing• A law degreeBenefits• 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Healthcare (after probation) • Pension • Eye-care vouchers
