Job Description

Brake Press Operator – Washington Key Responsibilities

  • The ability to fold sheet metal items from customer or in house drawings and / or assemblies
  • Working to achieve daily order schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to monitor multiple order requirements.
  • Informing production department of any potential issues
  • Being flexible, performing a variety of other tasks (eg. warehousing, booking in / out goods / checking items for quality issues) as production needs require.
Skills
  • Show an aptitude towards operating CNC machinery (Brake press)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and energetic attitude to work.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills and take on new tasks including use of CNC Lasers or aiding Laser operators.

The successful candidate must be observant and will be able to demonstrate their attention to detail as this is a vital characteristic within this role. Working closely as part of a small team, we require an applicant who is a team player and can communicateeffectively. The individual should possess the ability to work in an organised manner using their own initiative as well as follow directions and work efficiently to specification.This role requires a mixture of physical, practical skills, common sense, and some computer / application proficiency.As Brake Press Operator is shop floor based and as such organisation / tidiness, being responsible and working safely are all crucial.You will be required to:
  • Operate Amada Brake Press.
  • Create fold programs, signing off folded items and filing paperwork.
  • Keeping general stores and own working environment tidy.
  • Work well in a team and on own you own initiative.
  • Work overtime (throughout week and Saturday mornings when required).
Hours and Salary
  • Monday – Thursday 0800 – 1600
  • Friday 0800 – 1200
  • £12.65 an hour
  • This role requires flexibility to potentially move to nightshift in future
