Job Description

Lead Solution Architect (Infrastructure / CNI)UtilitiesPredominantly remote: 1 day per month in Warwick6 months£750 - £850 per daySC Clearance ideally but we will consider lapsed SC.In short: Solution Architect with a strong preference to infrastructure and an appreciation of networking required to join a separation programme of work going into 2025. You will be involved in the separation piece and then stay on as wego into transformation. An understanding / appreciation of CNI would be ideal but not essential. We just need a classic Solution Architect to be responsible for our sever tower and some integration into the cloud (theyre an MS shop).In full: We are seeking a talented and experienced LeadSolution Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisations infrastructureon a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) project. The project scope spans the business separation of security capabilities as a priority, followed by transformation.You will provide leadership to a team of skilled IT professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. You will have gravitas and sound influencing skills, comfortabledealing with C-suite leaders and business stakeholders.Responsibilities include:

  • Providing the overall technical leadership for the project, maintaining key relationships with Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security
  • Producing conceptual, logical and physical architecture documents, ensuring alignment to standards, frameworks and design process
  • Producing options papers and technical migration plans
  • Collaboration with technology vendors to assess and select the best solutions and technologies, challenging professionally where necessary
  • Represent the project at Technical Design Authority Boards
  • Support technical implementation activities and change
  • Provide input into test strategy, plans and execution
Preferred Skills:
  • Sound understanding of on-prem, cloud, and remote site infrastructure design
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies - SQL, Active Directory, Azure Integration
  • Virtualization technologies - VM Ware and VSphere
  • Good understanding of SAN infrastructure design
  • Experience of writing, reviewing and approving HLD and LLDs
  • Experience of site transformation and migration between different vendor technologies
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
Experience :
  • Must have Security Clearance or have lapsed clearance we can re-instate
    • Required - A minimum of 5+ years in a similar role with proven experience in Solution Architecture and Design.
    • Desirable - Bachelors degree in Solution Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Desirable - business separation/divestment experience
    • Desirable - experience of working with CNI, Utilities, Regulated Industries, OT
