Senior Design Engineer Team Leader Coleshillto c£50k neg dep exp + benefitsOur client has been established for more than 35 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of electrical cabling and connection solutions for supply throughout the world,and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2024 and beyond, are now looking to recruit an experienced, hands-on and proactive Senior Design Engineer Team Leader to oversee the activities of their professional andsuccessful Solutions Design team.Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager and based near Coleshill, the successful Senior Design Engineer Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and designing manufacturing tooling, and implementing improvements to both production and assemblyprocesses, working within the core values of the global business, joining a team of experienced design professionals responsible for understanding company objectives and striving to meet and exceed the KPIs and metrics, delivering improved efficiencies andreducing downtime as well as investigating and undertaking analysis on how to improve existing tooling or components.Working within the core values of the global business, you will join a team of experienced design professional responsible for understanding company objectives and striving to meet and exceed the KPIs and metrics, delivering improved efficiencies and reducingdowntime as well as investigating and undertaking analysis on how to improve existing tooling or components. As Team Leader, you will additionally be responsible for the first line Management of the team, including disciplinary, absence management, performancemanagement, recruitment and the resolution of any 1st line personnel issues that may arise. You will also be tasked with creating technical reports as required and presenting information using PowerPoint.With a proven press tooling and fixture design engineering background, you will undertake CAD model and drawing creation, document control and review and perform essential material stress-strain analysis calculations and DFMEA/PFMEA analysis as required,identifying new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs whilst communicating effectively with all colleagues and sub-contractors involved in a project, and planning effectively in order to ensure on time-within budget delivery andto the standard required.Other duties will include delivering consistent repeatable processes and improving product quality and working with the coordinators and operatives in order to implement new machines and procedure where necessary, before providing manufacturing support andinformation for all processes, generating and maintaining associated product and process data and training and coaching team members aligned with the plans of the design and technical manager.To be considered for this varied and challenging Senior Design Engineer Team Leader position it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 4+ years experience in a similar Press Tooling design position and realistically be qualifiedto at least HNC level or above in a relevant Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline, along with SAP/ERP experience and knowledge of 3D Cad (CREO Parametric or SolidWorks) and demonstrable experience of Press Tool or jig and fixture design and knowledgeof metal manufacturing processes and of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.Contact the Design Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on or email your cv in confidence to for further details.
