Job Description

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for for accurately processing payroll for a large team within the energy and natural resources sector. The role requires an individual with strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills and a firmunderstanding of payroll processes.Client DetailsThis company is a well-established and respected entity in the energy and natural resources industry. They value every team memberand strive to create a collaborative and supportive work.DescriptionThe Payroll Specialist responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of weekly and/or monthly payroll calculations and transactions
  • Possessing a high level of payroll knowledge on statutory and company policies, procedures and Group Standards
  • Being responsible for the administration, coordination and management of the payroll function
  • Preparing and inputting data for monthly and weekly payroll in line with payroll deadlines.
  • Ensuring employee costs are charged accurately
  • Supporting the smooth running of payroll data between internal and external parties
  • Processing timesheets, pay rates and welfare benefits for all contractors
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with the weekly and monthly end to end payroll processes
  • Processing employee expense claims
  • Providing support for Tax Year End activities
ProfileThe Payroll Specialist will need to show:
  • Experience in Payroll position
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including tax, pension and statutory payments
  • Experience in delivering end to end weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Knowledge and experience of Payroll systems #
  • Knowledge of Working Rule Agreements would be advantageous
  • Good excel skills for data management, analytics and reporting
  • Good analytical skills - high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good time management and strong organisation skills
  • Professionalism and initiative - proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement
