Our clientDeep Sea Electronics (DSE) is a leading global designer, manufacturer, and supplier of a wide range of industry leading electronic control systems. Specialising in control solutions for the generator market, vehicle and off -highway machinery, automatic transferswitch applications and industrial battery chargers, the company has gone from strength to strength since it was established in 1975. Now as part of Generac, their growth rate has increased even further.All products are manufactured in the UK at the companys bespoke head office manufacturing facility in North Yorkshire, with product design split between specialist engineering teams based within the head office and the companys dedicated design facility inthe East Midlands.Additional offices in the United States, India and Dubai combined with a comprehensive distributor, reseller and system integrator network ensure DSE products are supported at industry-leading levels across the globe.The opportunityAs the Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, innovation and strategic direction for the business Group.Reporting directly to the Controls & Automation business group President, you will lead a dynamic team of technical professionals whose focus is to deliver market leading controls and automation solutions to a global customer base.Some of your responsibilities will include:

Providing leadership by developing technical strategies aligned with the overall business objectives, along with a tactical plan to continue to deliver world class products efficiently and effectively to customers.
Foster a culture of delivery, collaboration, continuous improvement and personal development across the team and wider business.
As part of the executive leadership team, you will collaborate to define the companys vision for the product range.
Working closely with the commercial and product management team, you will liaise with key customers to capture and maintain the product road map.
By translating business goals into actionable technical plans, you will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing and the engineering team to maximise performance.

About youAs an experienced Technical Director or Engineering Director, you will have considerable experience provide a full high quality engineering service from new product development, to engineering excellence in delivery whilst providing strategic and tactical leadershipto a multi-disciplinary design and project engineering team. With global experience, you will have the ability to give confidential to Group and an expanding customer base whilst being passionate about engineering and demonstrating the ability to inspireand develop your team to reach their full potential. You have a real understanding of world class engineering best practise and a continued drive for innovation of new products whilst continuing to maximise the existing product lifecycle. As a CharteredEngineer or equivalent, you will demonstrate the ability to lead, manage and challenge a multi-disciplinary design team to deliver exceptional products to a global customer base.This is an exciting opportunity to join an exciting and dynamic engineering business as Technical Director to play a crucial role in the future growth supplying new and existing products into new and existing markets.
