Job Description

Our Client is looking to recruit Support Workers for a new Children’s Residential facility opening in the area of Warminster, Wiltshire.The role of support worker is a critical client-facing role. It involves working within a residential setting as part of a team working holistically with young people who have experienced family crises and who struggle to manage their behaviour.

  • An excellent standard of care is provided for the young people, where positive routines are established and maintained and their individual needs are always taken into account.
  • The welfare of all the young people looked after is promoted, and the employee recognizes and assumes their responsibility to exercise particular care, vigilance and energy in their approach to safeguarding.
  • A positive living environment is created for the young people in our care and domestic and household duties are performed to a high standard.
  • Effective and accurate communication is developed with the young people, their families and others and respect is always shown for their views and opinions.
  • Communication within the team is prioritised and end of shift hand overs are comprehensive.
  • Young people are supervised effectively, a positive level of control is maintained and age-appropriate activities are devised.
  • Any concerns about the young people are always shared with their Supervisor or Registered Manager.
  • All record keeping and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Essential Competencies, Skills and Experience
  • Able to take responsibility for and provide the care of young people
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and boundaries with children and young people
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
  • Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
  • Able to recognise and assume responsibility to exercise particular care, vigilance and energy in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people
  • Full manual driving licence
  • Able to work 24 hour shifts (if full-time)
  • Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Health & Social Care (Caring for Children and Young People)
