Laboratory ChemistUp to £26,000 - £29,000 depending on experienceBased in LiverpoolWorking 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to FridayA multinational contract testing company based in Liverpool is looking to appoint a Laboratory Chemist to their site on a permanent basis. The role is open to candidates with a range of experience and the offered salary will reflect this.The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of around 1 years experience from a role within the metals and minerals testing industry together with a HNC/HND/Degree in Chemistry or related subject. Method validation experience would be highly desirable.Duties:• This position is responsible for the determination of a wide range of analytical constituents in samples employing a variety of analytical instrumentation primarily ICP, XRF and wet chemistry including Titration / Auto titration.• Prepare and analyse various samples based on method requirement.• Quality Control; process samples through the laboratory within company guidelines and working to ISO 17025:2017 standards.• Compare results to predetermined specifications to ensure analytical records are complete, accurate and in compliance• Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment/ instrumentation. • Liaise on technical issues with senior Laboratory Management and promote team ethics.• Mentoring junior laboratory staff (depending on level).• Conduct investigations into method deviations and out of specifications results.• Ensure compliance, overall data integrity, and adherence to SOPS, safety, and in-house regulations.Qualifications and Experience:• Good practical laboratory experience.• HNC/HND/Degree in Applied Chemistry or related subject• High standard of dexterity.• Understanding and proficiency with Laboratory IT systems. • Ability to multitask. • Investigative and scientific approach.• A team player respectful and aware of the need for understanding of interacting and communicating with colleagues.• Broad knowledge of quality services and the factors involved in delivering a quality service to ISO 17025: 2017 standard.• Experience of working to deadlines. • Experienced in working within a team-focussed environment.• Sufficient technical understanding and awareness of laboratory services to be able to communicate on a technical level.Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
