Job Description

Java DeveloperFlexible working availableBased in the heart of Surrey an excellent opportunity has come through for an experienced Java Developer to join their team due to continuous growth of the business. Our client are leading organisation who provide solutions to a wide range of clients in the financial services industry and as such want a Java Developer who shares their vision.Part of in-house development team, the Java Developer will work alongside a peer group of senior Java developers as required. The Java Developer will also work collaboratively with their offshore development teams, developing code and represent the clients best interests to ensure they get quality deliverables from their outsourced teams. Undertaking the detailed software design and development work for the clients online products covering a wide range of Finance instruments.Skills required:

  • Previous experience working for a software product, SaaS company or software development house (E)
  • The successful candidate must have recent and demonstrable experience of both Back-End and Front-End technologies, but more experienced with Back-End technologies :
  • Java/J2EE
  • Spring Framework
  • JUnit and UI testing
  • XML/XPATH/XSLT
  • Apache Camel
  • ActiveMQ
  • Tomcat
  • Windows Server
  • MS SQL
  • Oracle
  • Splunk
    • Front-end Technologies. Some experience of the following
  • HTML
  • Javascript
  • CSS
  • Angular
  • Bootstrap
  • Struts
    • Other sklls required:
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies such as Kanban/Agile (E) and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience of using AWS for hosting Web Applications
  • Experience working with remote/offshore Development Teams
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Ability to articulate technical issues clearly and concisely with both on-shore and off-shore Development Teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively and the ability to present oneself in a calm, professional manner whilst under time and schedule pressure
