Job Description

Laboratory / Plant ChemistMy client is a large environmental consultancy who are looking for a Laboratory/Plant Chemist to join their site over in Walsall on a 5-month contract basis. If you have a qualification in Chemistry or lab experience and looking to kickstart your career, then this role is for you!Key responsibilities:

  • You will be part of a team analysing all incoming customer samples and plant samples in accordance with regulatory requirements; assisting the Laboratory Manager and Senior Chemist with maintenance works on laboratory equipment.
  • To analyse for pre-acceptance criteria in compliance with Company Systems and procedures.
  • To assist Laboratory Manager and Senior chemist with paperwork and computerised records.
  • To assist Site Management in actively promoting environmental awareness to Employees, Contractors and Visitors.
  • To undertake any operational duties assigned by a member of the Site Management team, Safely, Efficiently and in accordance with instructions issued and Company / Site Procedures.
  • To assist Site Management with the Companys obligations regarding the Sites Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) permit.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • A-Level/ HNC or higher education in a science related degree. However full training will be given to those with previous lab analysis experience.
