Job Description

Card Factory is the UKs leading specialist retailer of greetings cards, dressings, and gifts with over one thousand stores across the UK and Ireland. This strategy sees significant investment into ourHead Officeteams creating multiple opportunities to join a fast-paced environment and be part ofourexcitingjourney.Job Purpose:The Junior Category Manager will work with the Account Managers to support our partners such as Aldi and Matalan (UK), and The Reject Shop (Australia). Main ResponsibilitiesWorking across multiple different customer accounts, you will:

  • Build and develop ranges independently and alongside the Account Manager for different partners in order to drive sales and profitability
  • Use visual merchandising tools to bring ranges to life
  • Co-ordinate market research and competitor activity to identify gaps and opportunities in the market
  • Assist in developing relationships with new and existing suppliers to create innovative and profitable products
  • Work closely with the Design Studio to create market-leading ranges
  • Assist with the end to end product cycle management and critical path adherence
  • Support with the creation of sales analysis and stock reports to ensure each partner is trading in line with expectations
  • Support the team with general administration tasks
  • Undertake project work with the support of the Account Manager to help define future processes

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in analysing sales and interpreting data
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to interact with all teams and levels of the business
  • Have a good level of computer literacy - Microsoft Excel and Outlook are essential;
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience of working in a commercial function as a Buying or Merchandising Assistant
  • Experience in working with Card and Gifting products
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising systems and processes
