Job Description

  • Manage ledgers, process payments, and assist MD, Project Managers, and Accounts team.
  • Handle supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, authorization, and alignment with orders.
  • Communicate with suppliers, reconcile statements, and manage payment queries.
  • Set up new suppliers, conduct credit assessments for payments if needed.
  • Process subcontractor orders, manage budget adherence, and handle inquiries.
  • Verify and process staff expenses.
  • Manage bank payments within limits, providing required documentation.
  • Issue remittance advices and CIS certificates to subcontractors.
  • Collaborate on invoice issues, ensuring accurate payments.
  • Accurately allocate costs to contracts and nominal codes.
  • Prepare and submit HMRC returns, reconcile ledgers and VAT accounts.
  • Develop monthly bank reconciliations for accurate cash balance tracking.
  • Provide cash flow information, considering payment implications.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, maintaining transaction records.
  • Handle calls, resolve issues, and support office operations.
  • Cover for Accounts team during leave, adhering to quality processes.
  • Assist MD and Accounts Team with ad-hoc tasks.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in finance systems and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Understanding of HMRC regulations, VAT, and CIS requirements.
