Job Description

Recruit 121 is working with a Caerphilly based company to recruit a Site Financial Controller due to a promotion. This is a fantastic and hands-on role for someone that has got great experience and is looking to progress their career.Mainpurpose:

  • Development and implementation of standardised reporting aligned with group principles and policies that reflects finance performance of the site. Supporting the SLT in making decisions, by making sure that policies and internal control are implementedat site level.
  • inform, communicate and control costs and expenses in order to meet the challenge within the M&S Site of delivering the lowest cost of production for products manufactured or purchased.
  • To provide full and effective financial management services at Site (M&S). Lead and co-ordinate the appropriate information to ensure monthly M&S financials deliverables are on time and co-lead site reviews with Site Director, Head of M&S Finance and departmentfinancial reviews.
  • To ensure that all appropriate local reporting and compliance requirements are met.
Main Task:Full Member of Site Leadership Team (dotted line with Site Director)
  • Responsible mainly for the Manufacturing Controlling including Product Costing and Stock Management, OpeX management, Resources follow-up, supply chain & logistics costs, Purchasings spend control ( Direct and Indirect ) , Projects costs, CaPEX reviews.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the Site Strategic Plan as a member of the Site Leadership Team for the Site Function.
  • Suggesting solutions and making improvement to business within M&S as whole.
  • Responsible for ensuring overall alignment within and across M&S and Finance.
  • Prepare, interpret and advise on P&L Account and Balance Sheet performance for Site and control the Budget for site Functional areas.
  • Managing the interfaces with both Finance Accounting and across the M&S Finance function.
  • Understanding and commitment to the company Business Strategy
  • Personal and professional leadership and management of business issues.
  • Autonomy to make decisions within agreed policies, procedures and Budgets.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesControl and Reporting of Costs and Expenses and Assets/Liabilities
  • Using a standard format for M&S that allows the tracking of performance against Budget / Forecasts and KPIs
  • Excellent knowledge of Manufacturing Accounting (principles and system)
  • Thorough understanding of Stock Reconciliation and Valuation techniques (liaise with Financial Accounting )
  • Validate financial impact of change controls/Stock Write Off as well as non-recurring items, weekly manufacturing accounting and standard costing
  • Support GPMP Team as well as SLT, GT, S&OP, Quality
  • Support New Product Introduction by providing financial modelling and costing expertise including yr. end std costing exercise
  • Support Global Technical team by providing some financial support on project costs follow up
  • Good understanding and knowledge of TolI Manufacturing principles
  • Prepare and present monthly site "Dashboard" information to monitor performance of site.
  • Budget and Forecast construction including Cost Of Production, cost per pack
  • Establish Actual Cost per Pack for determination of Bonus Payment for Site.
  • CAPEX; investment appraisal, contribution to cash flow projection and pay back calculations plus approval of CAPEX requests and monitoring actual expenses against approved amounts.
  • Support the Site Team in preparation of Business cases.
  • Link/ interface with Finance team to make sure that accounting transactions that impact manufacturing operations are booked correctly
Management and Leadership skills in M&S Finance Team
  • Develop strong & sustainable cross functional relationships with the business and the Accounting department to make sure to deliver accurate reporting.
  • Develop guidance and financial vision to build and develop a Global mindset as a key capability for staff.
  • Provide Leadership and Direction aligned with M&S objectives and overall company Business Strategy
  • Organisational development; establishing a flexible and sustainable organisation
  • Be a business partner for the organisation.
  • Awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy.
Projects
  • Major Capex tracking and business case follow up ( New lines, or Equipment, post audit )
  • Business case support for New Capex
  • Integration of M&S reporting in financial group pack
  • Support Projects best resources allocation
  • Integration of new business opportunities
  • New product launch finance support for New Product Committee (NPC)
Knowledge & Skills:Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant with at least +5 years plus experience.
  • Finance background; with a minimum of +5 years experience in a multinational environment with manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of M&S supply chain processes and Toll manufacturing principles
  • Experienced in implementing new systems
  • Experience of matrix management
  • Analytically strong with highly developed knowledge and ability to specify and use IT systems to achieve process improvements and the conversion of data into meaningful business information
  • Conversant and knowledgeable of accounting and local tax legislation and compliance rules
Skills:
  • Project management and project leadership.
  • Problem solving skills and techniques required to deal with multifaceted issues arising in a fast moving environment.
  • Well developed planning and organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Able to find solutions to problems and issues using technical ability and experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and French other languages an advantage but not essential
