Assistant Accountant

Job Description

Recruit 121 is working with a manufacturing company to recruit an Assistant Accountant for a busy finance department. This will be a very hands-on role for someone that likes a fast-paced environment. This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified oris working towards it.Responsibilities:

• Assisting with month-end and year-end accounts
• Preparing month-end journals, including maintaining prepayment schedules
• Stock valuation
• Payroll analysis and reconciliations
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Conducting internal audits of trade depots
• Reviewing purchase invoices, checking for accuracy and consistency of allocation
• Monitoring, reconciling and posting of inter-company transactions
• Assisting with Annual Audit
• Providing support to Group Reporting Accountant and the FP&A team
• Support Continuous Improvement activities across Finance
• Any other duties as requested by Group Reporting Accountant

Technical Competence

• AAT qualified or studying towards Accountancy qualifications
• Strong Excel user

Essential

• Experience working in a finance team (min one year)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
• Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Committed to personal development
• Travel will be required

Desirable

• Experience of working in a manufacturing or similar environment
• Experience with Stock valuation & Capex.
• Prior use of Sage 200 or other ERP system

Salary £22 -£25k
