Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a Front Office Manager on behalf of their client based in Umberleigh, Devon.Role responsibilities:* Manage Front Office functions and team efficiently, covering all tasks relating to guests, team and interactions with other departments* Ensure the Front Office team provides a responsive service to deliver a memorable experience to all guests* Review and maintain highest standards of operation and service in line with the hotel overall strategy and industry trends* Be familiar with all operational standards and be available to cover roles during busy periods, including periodic night shifts* Ensure the department is well organised, tidy and equipment maintained, reporting any hazards, accidents and/or maintenance issues* Manage skills gaps and vacant roles by developing the team and effective recruitment* Lead the team to interact frequently and daily with our guests to seek feedback and build positive guest relations and loyalty* Ensure team complies with Health & Safety standards at all times* Maintain an effective and efficient team communication flow including daily handovers and regular team briefings* Actively participate and contribute to inter department meetings* Oversee responses to written and verbal guest complaints, including all social media reviews* Oversee room allocation and house balancing* Lead the team to upsell hotel services and promotions, as well as local attractions and landmarks in the hotel vicinity* Manage team development and performance using standard management tools. Inspire and motivate the team to help create an environment that promotes employee morale and encourages effective teamwork* Perform a management role in emergency situations as assigned by line manager and/or H&S Manager* Assist other departments as and when necessary including helping with familiarisation visits and entertaining of clients where necessaryGeneral AccountabilitiesPeople* Maintain good working relationships with the team across the hotel* Constantly improve knowledge and show a desire to learn.
