Job Description

Role: Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)Location: TwickenhamSalary: Up to £38k per annum (pro-rata) + bonus and benefitsThe role:We are looking for a French-English bilingual marketing manager to plan and implement the exhibitor, visitor and conference marketing campaigns, taking the lead in the execution of the key campaign elements on a world-leading event about packaging design and development for the perfume, cosmetics, drinks and aerosols markets.Reporting to the Head of Marketing and working closely with the wider marketing team, the Marketing Manager will develop and produce both print and digital marketing material that drives uptake and participation. Also contribute to continued improvements in campaign planning, execution and analysis through effective teamwork. The job requires excellent project management skills, marketing and communication skills and strategic thinking, plus the ability to consistently produce high quality work within timescales and budgets.The role will be working within a marketing team, currently consisting of seven people, within the Twickenham and Paris office and will involve management of one Marketing Executive. It will also require occasional travel to the Paris office.Key responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of end-to-end marketing campaigns and communications strategies to drive maximum revenues, newsletter subscribers, exhibitor and visitor numbers
  • To execute marketing campaigns which achieve maximum response through effective messaging and creative design which are on time and within budget
  • Relationship building with visitors, exhibitors and prospects to improve your market knowledge and input your findings into the development of the events and communication plans
  • To proactively manage external media and association relationships in order to extend the campaign to the broadest possible relevant audience. This will include setting up contra agreements, dealing with list swaps, data rental from externals and exhibitors, ensuring lists are seeded and monitor usage
  • To take responsibility for the execution of email, direct mail, advertising and insert schedules
  • To oversee show websites from a marketing and content perspective, to ensure maximum stickiness’ and added value for each product
  • To effectively manage and co-ordinate external marketing suppliers including creative agencies, mailing houses, printers, registration companies, PR and website agencies
  • To own the event’s digital marketing and social media strategy ensuring that marketing techniques are current and effective
  • To produce clear and effective briefing documents for external suppliers and internal service departments
  • To understand and ensure budget control and maintain cost trackers
  • To understand the audience and current database system and use this to its full effectiveness in running a campaign ensuring that marketing campaigns are segmented and highly targeted
  • To contribute to the planning and development of research campaigns - to include annual strategic research, on site research and post show exhibitor and visitor research
  • There will also be requirement to go to competitors shows and write up experiences of that show e.g. innovative features, successful campaigns, strong branding and sponsorship elements
  • Discovery and presentation of campaign effectiveness through statistical analysis of the events
  • To ensure the cross promotion of ADF&PCD and PLD brand across all Easyfairs packaging portfolio to maximise data sharing and capture
  • To assist where required in other such duties as required by the Head of Marketing or Head of Cluster
  • Essential skills and experience:
  • 5 years or more in marketing, with at least 2 years in exhibitions, events or publishing
  • Must be fluent in both written and verbal French and English
  • Big picture thinking, adaptability and resilience are key attributes of your character
  • High competency across of all forms of communication - you love talking on the phone and having face to face conversations, but also have excellent written communication skills
  • Strong analytical approach to your work but balance this with creativity
  • Ability to work independently with confidence to take decisions
  • Ability to hit simultaneous deadlines and work under pressure
  • Extremely well-organised and have excellent presentation skills
  • Competent use of most Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • High attention to detail
