Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching position with special needs (SEN) pupilsWe are looking to recruit teachers for a special school based in Twickenham to start on Monday 8th March 2021.You will be providing teaching and care for secondary aged pupils with speech and language difficulties and autism across the spectrum.Basic Job Responsibilities:

  • You will work as a teacher delivering lessons across the curriculum and supporting the needs of the school on a day to day basis.
  • The role requires teaching pupils on a 1:1 basis with some small group work delivering lessons for a variety of attainment levels
  • Assisting with both planning and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils with special needs
  • As the role of the teacher you will be required to plan schemes of work and carry out assessments to evidence pupil progress over time.
  • You will be required to monitor the welfare of pupils and adhere to all safeguarding procedures promoted by the school.
  • You will be:
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with pupils and staff alike
  • Have experience of working and supporting children with Autism, speech and language and/or associated learning needs
  • QTS / PGCE or BEd qualified and / or be able to demonstrate the relevant experience in teaching.
  • Be resilient, forward thinking and adaptable
  • Forward thinking with a proactive approach
  • Ensure that standards are set by providing a good example and offering suitable support and direction.
  • Be happy and able to work as part of a supportive and experienced team
  • Be open to on-site coronavirus testing
  • This is a full-time role Mondays to Fridays (during school term time) with temporary to permanent position opportunities for the right candidate.Experience teaching special need (SEN) pupils previously is essential. Additional training in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), TEACCH and/or Team Teach is highly beneficial but is not essential.To be considered for this post please click "apply now" and send an updated CV.
