Job Description

Are you a qualified CBT Psychotherapist or Psychologist looking for your next challenge Do you want to work for a supportive, friendly employer who supports work/life balanceThis fantastic opportunity is for a CBT Psychotherapist or Psychologist in West Kent (based in Tunbridge Wells or Dartford) who will be responsible for the delivery of evidenced based psychological therapies in the At Risk Mental State service.The successful candidates will be responsible for offering high quality assessment and intervention (including CBT/CBTp and family interventions) to young people entering the service. Case consultation and joint working with staff in the multi-professionalteam will also be an expectation.We have x 2 posts available, x1 in Dartford or Tunbridge Wells and x1 based in Canterbury. Please do apply to this vacancy if you are interested in either of these positions.Candidates must hold a postgraduate Qualification in CBT/Psychology, and hold HCPC registration, and have experience of working with people with mental health problems.NHS experience is not essential, so please do apply if you feel your skills and experience align to our requirements.Main duties of the JobTo participate in the provision of psychological services to people aged 14-35 years with an At Risk Mental State and their families. In particular:

  • To be responsible for the systematic provision of Psychological therapies and interventions
  • To undertake high quality direct and indirect specialist NICE compliant interventions
  • To strengthen the MDTs therapeutic capacity & work effectively with teams.
To deliver an effective service it is essential that you are able to travel between bases and home visits in a timely manner.The ServiceThis is an exciting development for EIP services in Kent and Medway following recent investment to develop an At Risk Mental State Service (ARMS). This new multi-professional service will provide comprehensive assessment and formulation for people aged 14to 35 years who are at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis. Treatment includes CBT for psychosis and co-existing mental health needs; family interventions/carers support, and a psycho-social therapeutic program that is trauma informed.The ARMS service will work collaboratively with other service providers including ChYPS, Substance Misuse Services and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) services (Live Well Kent and Medway, MIND) and the 18-25 pathway for young people. Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate Qualification in CBTp/ Psychology
  • BABCP registration/HCPC
  • Core profession & registration/ additional training
  • Experience in Psychosis/AMH/Severe MH problems/CHYPPS
  • Experience in CBT/CBTp
  • Experience in MDT working
  • Experience in groupwork/familywork
  • Written communication skills
  • Knowledge of recovery, social inclusion, EIP & ARMS policies
  • Audit, service evaluation & research experience
