SIG Distribution is currently looking to recruit a Technical Services Manager to join the team based at our flagship branch in Manchester, who will be an asset in providing a range of technical services and support to both customers and the SIG D sales organisation, in addition to supporting, developing and coaching the Technical Services Team to achieve their full potential.What does the role involveAs a Technical Services Manager, the successful candidate will need to be confident in their ability to coach, support, develop and mentor the Team to ensure they are meeting set KPIs, effectively managing customer expectations and delivering excellent customer service.Youll be an integral part of a team that delivers a range of quality technical services to both internal and external customers, linked to securing the procurement of construction materials, in line with the wider business strategy. This will mean providing building regulation and technical guidance, undertaking Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) energy performance calculations to assess the emissions of homes and demonstrate Part L compliance, calculating U-values and providing innovative solutions to drive the basket of construction products sold to customers through the SIG D Sales network. In addition, you?ll also need to drive the volume of chargeable services offered to customers via links to third party providers.The role holder will build relationships with Internal Sales, External Sales, Sales Managers and customers to increase sales revenues, gross margins and the retention of both new and existing customers. Youll need to work to deliver KPIs linked to gross margin, switch-selling, up-selling, service delivery and team productivity. The role holder will therefore drive the identification of opportunities across all SIG D brands to promote the full range of technical services offered. We will provide extensive training in building performance and product knowledge from all facets of SIG that are applicable to SIG Technical Services. Eventually, with training, youll become a qualified On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA), capable of producing SAP/EPC certificates.The role holder will ideally have a Mechanical Engineering background, but a construction or engineering related degree will also be considered. You must have extremely good attention to detail and be determined to deliver high quality work. Because youre managing a team, you need to be positive, enthusiastic and have the ability to work well under pressure, in addition to being a great team-player. You must be motivated and committed and have experience of managing and coaching a high performing team. The team work with a number of customers, both internally and externally, so you need to be able to prioritise your workload as youll have deadlines to meet.
