Job Description

HR ManagerLocation: Trafford Park office / Hybrid with local travel to sitesSalary: £60,000 - £70,000 (benefits include car, health insurance, pension)Hours of work: 40 hoursWe have an opportunity for an experienced, commercially focused HR Manager to join the senior leadership team of a multi-site dairy manufacturing and delivery business at an exciting period of growth. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operationalexcellence, and a deep understanding of the human dynamics within the organisation. As a part of the SLT, you will be responsible for all aspects of HR operations of the business and reporting into the Board as to the strategic direction for the future.   • Strategic HR Planning – Develop the people strategy with a commercial and future orientated perspective including the incorporation of AI tools and benefits.
  • Recruitment and Staffing – Develop and implement recruitment and onboarding strategies to attract and retain talent for various positions within the business.
  • Employee Relations – Coach, train and advise managers to address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a timely and effective manner, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Learning & Development – Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and other learning activities to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Performance Management – Work closely with managers to assess employee performance, identify development opportunities, and address performance issues proactively.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting – Establish key HR metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure and communicate HR effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • HR and Legal Compliance – Ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Pay & Benefits – Advise and guide the business on pay structures and salary reviews, ensuring that pay practices are equitable and competitive within the industry.
Candidate requirements:
  • Proven experience in a HR Manager (SLT) role, preferably in the manufacturing or food industry.
  • Thorough commercial working knowledge of UK employment legislation and UK HR principles and practices.
  • Experience in large scale TUPE acquisitions.
  • CIPD level 7 or equivalent (desirable)
  • L&D or Coaching qualifications (desirable)
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities with strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong ethical and professional integrity.
  • Commercial acumen and credibility
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to drive organisational success.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and agile approach to issues and challenges
  • Resilient to change with a desire to achieve.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • IT Literate – Microsoft. Sage HR or similar HRIS.
